Jewelry and Beadmaking Classes

Bead School
Reserve your spot in a class by calling, through e-mail, stop by the shop, or here through Pay-Pal. If sending payment on-line, please message us with the date you are signing up for. Bliss Beads will confirm your reservation through e-mail.
Full or partial payment for class is due at the time of registration. If you have to cancel let us know as soon as possible. Credit for another class at a different time will be givin if you let us know of your need to cancel before the class time.
Necklaces and Bracelets.
Design and create your own necklace or bracelet, or make a gift for someone you really like. We have lots of beads, quality findings, and stringing materials on hand. Look at all of our finished jewelry or project book for inspiration. Learn about design and creating functional jewelry from a skilled and patient teacher. Choose one of the following dates.
When: Saturday, September 3. 1-2:30pm or Monday, September 19 at 5:30-7pm.

Dangle Earrings
Make the earrings of your dreams using hoops, chandeliers, headpins, and French hooks. Learn to make wire loops to connect the components of your dangle earrings. Create your designs with our large selection of unique beads and findings from all over the world. Choose one of the following dates.
When: Saturday, August 27 at 1:30-3:00pm. Monday, September 12 at 5:30-7pm. Saturday, October 8 at 1-2:30pm
Cost: 8.00 plus the cost of materials
Wire Wrapped Bead Ring
Make the perfect ring for you or someone you know! Attend this fun workshop and learn to make a basic sterling silver wire ring. Choose the right gemstone to "set" in your ring. Get creative with your wire wrapping technique. Experience some of the common tools used at a jewelers bench.
Your friends will be complementing your unique creation and wanting a ring of their own. Choose from one of the following dates.
When: Saturday, September 24 at 1-2pm. Thursday, October 7 at 5:30-6:30pm. Saturday, October 22 at 1:30-2:30pm.
Cost: 12.00 plus the cost of beads.
Seed Bead Workshop
Bring in your seed bead project for advice or get help with designing a seed bead project. Lori Tolliver is a professional seed bead artist and a skilled teacher. She can solve almost any seed bead project and has a great eye for color and design. Bliss Beads offers vials of Japanese seed beads (size 15 & 8) and hanks of Czech glass seed beads (size 11 & 8). We carry several sizes and colors of Nymo beading strand and several sizes of beading needles. Call ahead to let us know that you will attend.
When: Thursday Evenings at 5-7pm beginning September 8.
Cost: $10.00 plus the cost of materials.
Recycle & Repair Workshop
Don't throw it away. Bring your outdated, broken, or problematic jewelry to this workshop and re-create something you will love. Find solutions with our huge selection of beads, chain, wire, clasps, hooks, and other findings. Our creative teachers love to solve jewelry making problems and can help you turn those old pieces or heirlooms into something you will want to proudly wear everyday. Choose a date from below.
When: Thursday, September 15 at 5:30-7pm. Saturday, October 8 at 1:30-3pm. Monday, October 24 at 5:30-7pm.
Cost: $8.00 plus the cost of materials.
Kids! Make a Bracelet.
Create a one-of-a-kind stretchy bracelet in this fun class geared towards kids who are beginners at making jewelry. We have lots of neat Czech glass beads in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. After designing your bracelet, you'll get to string your beads and wear your unique piece of jewelry right away. This also makes a great project for kids birthday parties.

Silversmithing: Silver Gemstone Set Pendant
Instructor: Mike Montavon
Learn fundamental jewelry techniques while making a sterling silver pendant with a bezel set gemstone. This workshop is geared toward the novice jewelry maker and those who want to refine their skills. Cutting silver sheet, forming bezel wire, soldering, setting a cabachon formed gemstone, and finishing are some of the practices that will be covered in this three hour session.Use this class as a foundations course for constructing with silver. Gain knowledge of common tools at the jewelers bench and safety know how.

Introduction to Flamework Glass Beadmaking Workshop
Join us for this opportunity to learn to make your own glass beads. Be engaged by the magic of manipulating molten glass in the flame of a torch. Take part in the historical practice of flamework. In this class you will learn the fundamentals for making glass beads and begin to manifest your own creative voice in glass. Topics that will be covered include tools and equipment, safety, properties of glass, manipulation of glass, annealing, and finishing beads. Ideas for turning your beads into finished jewelry will also be discussed. Choose one of the following three hour class dates.
When: Saturday, August 27 at 10-1pm. Monday, September 19 at 6-9pm. Saturday, October 8 at 10-1pm. Tuesday, October 25 at 6-9pm.

Introduction to Flamework Glass Beadmaking Class
Join this class that meets for three hours every week over three weeks to develop skill and confidence in making flamework glass beads. Leave this class prepared to work independently at the torch. Choose one of the following three week courses.
When: Wednesdays, September 28, October 5, & 12 at 6-9pm.

Intermediate Glass Beadmaking Workshop
Learn and practice new glass working techniques. Dive deeper into your creative potential with glass as a medium. This class builds on your previous skills in making glass beads at the torch. Dots, lines, twisties, hollow bead forms, and casing are some of the techniques that will be covered. Discussions on building a flamework studio and safety will be included. *This class is cutomizable and may be taken more than once.
When: Thursday, September 22 at 6-9pm. Saturday, October 15 at 10-1pm. Saturday, October 29 at 10-1pm.
Cost: $70.00 includes instruction, glass, and equipment.
Open Torch
Work independantly at the torch with glass rod. Use this time to practice and polish your skills. Instruction on technique is available. 10 hours minimum previous lampwork experience is required.
When: Thursday evenings at 5-9pm or make an appointment for daytime hours.
Cost: $25.00 for a 2.5 hour session. Does not include glass (we sell Effetre Soft Glass).
